Our Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants do a variety of work that helps our customers and clients across the UK.
We support our ICES contracts by working with customer clinical staff to improve equipment catalogues. We reassess service user needs at the end of their initial loan period to check if they still need their equipment. We work with Prescribers to ensure special non-catalogue equipment is only ordered when absolutely necessary. We help people funding their own equipment purchases to understand the right equipment to buy to support their needs. And we support our non clinical staff, such as Driver Technicians to help them with their interactions with service users.
We also support our Commissioners, and other Authorities and Trusts by undertaking assessments on their behalf. This includes for example reviewing double handed care packages, assessing telecare needs, and helping to reduce assessment backlogs.
We ensure our Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants are fully qualified, and help them develop their skills, qualifications and careers.
